The Zinn Education Project: Lesson plans based on the work of Howard Zinn, author of the groundbreaking "A People's History of the United States." The Zinn Education Project has an excellent Facebook page as well--they update frequently with pictures from history, biographies of activists throughout the ages, and stories of coalition-building among many groups.
The Teaching Diverse Students Initiative (a project of Teaching Tolerance and the Southern Poverty Law Center: it's a subscription site, but can be free of charge under certain criteria--well worth signing up!)

"A Slip of the Tongue" is a short film based on Adriel Luis' spoken word poem, in which a young man tries the line, "What's your ethnic make up?" to get a woman's attention--and instead gets schooled on race and gender. "Your ethnicity isn't something you can just make up." Rejection never sounded so sweet!

The Diversity and Equity Advisory Committee meets monthly to assess campus climate and work toward a more equitable SPSCC experience for all.
