Interpreters
Under the direction of the Disability Support Services (DSS), interpreters provide sign language interpreting services for the classroom. The interpreter functions as the support service provider to facilitate communication for enrolled students who are deaf, hard of hearing, in the classroom through the use of sign language or oral interpretation/transliteration. It is important to know that your communication is with the student. Always face and talk directly to your student. Interpreters do not speak for students.
