Tips for Managing Hot Moments
The diversity of experiences and identities present in any given classroom setting enrich every student's academic experience, but conflict and tension inevitably arise as students grapple with how to integrate new information into their old vision of the world. The instructor's role is to help students navigate these clashes of identity and culture and help them turn moments of conflict into moments of greater understanding.
